The Bismarck-Mandan Convention and Visitors Bureau mission is to stimulate economic growth by bringing new dollars into the community; by encouraging visitors to stay in our hotels and visit our attractions and local businesses. Our main objective is selling the merits of visiting Bismarck-Mandan.
Public Schools - Bismarck
Bismarck Public School District has been in the education business for over 125 years (since 1873). The first graduating class was in 1887, when two people graduated. In 2003, 826 students graduated. The oldest building is part of BHS, built in 1934, and the newest building is Horizon Middle School, which opened in January 2001.
We are the one of the largest school districts in the state, with more than 10,500 students and about 1,600 staff members. We have over 500 classrooms in fifteen grade schools, three middle schools, two senior high schools, an alternative high school, a career and technical center, and an early childhood program.

The Mandan School District is proud to not only be accredited with commendation by the Department of Public Instruction, but also on of the Midwest's first school districts to be accredited K-12, by the North Central Association.

Capital Electric Cooperative, located in Bismarck, North Dakota is a member of Basin Electric Power Cooperative, our wholesale power supplier. We also purchase power from Central Power Electric Cooperative, Inc. and the Western Area Power Administration. We are a Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
